Although many of our students need to be prepared for specific high stakes assessments in their final years of high school, it doesn't mean we can't ALSO focus on more relevant analysis and real world writing as well. In the first part of this course, we'll study mentors of great analysis writing in popular, real world contexts, as well as learn about different ways to study, write about, and structure texts. In the second part of the course, we'll apply that learning as analytical readers and writers ourselves - get ready to prepare your own mentor texts to use with students!
