Our EKC Global Chats series is a space for sharing, asking for support, and brainstorming together.

Each month, we will tackle a different hot topic in literacy with an expert in the field, and then join in some global camaraderie and discussion. It's free to join!

Chat: January 15 | 7:30-8:30am EST
Topic: Reading Across the Day

Look at any literacy teacher bookshelf across the world and you’re bound to find at LEAST one from our next Global Chat guest, Jennifer Serravallo. She has been a mainstay for helping us efficiently plan our reading and writing instruction and, guess what?! She’ll be joining us for our first chat of the new year to discuss her book, Teaching Reading Across the Day, Grades K-8 which gives us actionable, research-based structures to help plan for literacy instruction during our language arts, science, social studies, transdisciplinary units and beyond. Do you feel pressed for time, that there’s so much to know, or that you just need to see it in action? Jennifer and Erin will hash out how to make planning for literacy more efficient, how we can maximize literacy learning within and outside of our literacy blocks, and still meet the needs of the diverse learners in our classroom.
