Our EKC Global Chats series is a space for sharing, asking for support, and brainstorming together.

Each month, we will tackle a different hot topic in literacy with an expert in the field, and then join in some global camaraderie and discussion. It's free to join!

Chat: May18 | 7:00-8:00am EST

Join Erin Kent and EKC Strategist Erika Olson as we dive into how inquiry and foundational knowledge-building work hand-in-hand—not at odds—with each other. We'll unpack how an environment rich in shared knowledge actually fuels deeper questioning, stronger connections, and more authentic learning moments.

We’ll also explore how writing can serve as a bridge between exploration and explanation, and how shifting our instructional moves around vocabulary, background knowledge, and shared reading can create even more space for meaningful inquiry.
