This course provides a framework for managing and sustaining instructional shifts in literacy. It examines various change management theories to help leaders navigate the human and systemic challenges of managing change in schools. Participants will understand the two sides of change including a decline in performance and emotional fatigue that often accompanies new initiatives (the implementation dip), and the power of building teacher capacity through a heart, head, and hands approach to professional learning. At the end of the course participants will walk away with a draft of a change action plan applicable in their context.
