Many schools around the globe have made shifts in their approaches to teaching phonics to better align with the scientific research of word recognition development. A significant change has been towards more whole-group, explicit instruction. If you're feeling confident with your phonics teaching, but find yourself asking, "How do I reach the needs of ALL of my learners, after my whole group lessons?", then this is the course for you!  We'll be exploring how to best monitor student progress and, more importantly, how to use that data to develop responsive, flexible small groups and differentiated learning opportunities. We'll think through schedules, challenge some assumptions about timing and grouping, as well as provide suggestions that have worked well in schools around the world. Most importantly, you'll walk away with concrete plans for next school year.
